What We Do

PGY is committed to providing a wholesome and professional environment where students can come and have a fabulous time "putting on a show".  PGY provides a truly unique performance experience where students of all skill levels can develop:

* Confidence and Self Esteem
* Performance Skills
* Social Skills & Friendships

Whether "Born to Entertain" or "Wall-flower longing to be brave", PGY is a place where kids can grow and develop at their own pace in a positive, encouraging and non-competitive environment.

During each session, student are taught performing skills while learning a variety of musical theater showcase numbers involving singing, dancing and acting.   Rehearsals culminate in on-stage performances at the end of the semester, involving dress rehearsals, costumes, props, sets, lighting, sound, etc.  A real show experience!

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Performing Groups for Youth is a year long commitment of your time, monies and energy.  We seek out students with talent, but more importantly we seek out students with integrity, honor, enthusiasm and dedication.  If this describes you or the “you “ you hope to be, then PGY is the place for you.  While we are learning to use our talents, we also learn life skills, and have experiences that will last far beyond the memories of each year .

As we develop our performance skills, we learn that our voices, body and emotions are directly linked to our spirit.  When a performer expresses the emotions of a text through music, movement and drama, lives are changed.  And we expect to change the lives of those who see us, and more importantly we know that our lives will also be changed.  When our heart and performance are in tune, the effects are chills, laughter, tears, or true moments of joy for each of us, and hopefully those who watch.

In PGY we are taught to transcend the technique, and to focus upon the emotions and joy of performance.   The confidence found in mastering a step, or a solo; The joy in making new friends, and working as a team; the self- discipline found while learning to focus and learn new things, the thrill of using imagination and creativity and flexible ways of thinking to accomplish a goal.

Ultimately, in performance, our goal becomes to share with audiences all these emotions that we have enjoyed throughout the preparation process.  When we succeed, the performance is magic.

What Our Parents Are Saying

"My daughter has loved every minute of PGY! She has been performing since she was 5 and at 13 this group still challenges her and gives her opportunities to shine. And the teachers and staff treat the kids like family. We love PGY!"
